What debt collection through a lawyer costs
Below is exactly what you pay in each scenario. No small print, no rates that only appear after the intake call.
Payment in full
I work on a no cure no pay basis. In principle your debtor pays the collection costs. In most cases that means the debtor pays 100 percent of your invoice, including the statutory collection costs and interest, and my work costs you nothing.
Conditions:
- the claim is a business claim, between companies
- the claim has not previously been handled by another collection party
- the claim is undisputed
- it concerns the amicable, extrajudicial stage
Partial payment
If only part of the invoice is paid, or the principal but not the interest and collection costs, the amount received is allocated proportionally to the principal sum and the interest claimed. In practice you receive between 90 and 100 percent of the amount recovered.
No payment
If your debtor pays nothing at all, I charge no collection commission. You pay only a standard fee of 75 euro.
Court proceedings
If we decide together to litigate, because your debtor does not pay or disputes the claim, I handle the case on an hourly rate agreed in advance or for a fixed fee. Which of the two applies is agreed before anything happens.
Court fees and bailiff costs are additional. If the claim is awarded these are in principle charged to your debtor.
What you will never encounter
- No subscription fees
- No file handling charges
- No charge for an intake conversation
- No surprises afterwards, because I ask for your approval before every step that costs money
