How Koreman Advocatuur handles your personal data: what is processed, why, how long it is kept and what rights you have.
General
Koreman Advocatuur is the trade name of the private limited company Koreman Advocatuur B.V., established at Spoorlaan 388, 5038 CD Tilburg, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 18078906.
Koreman Advocatuur respects your personal data and ensures that the personal information provided to us, or otherwise obtained by us, is treated confidentially. Personal data means all information relating to a person, including data that says something about someone indirectly.
What follows gives effect to the duty to inform data subjects that is laid down in the General Data Protection Regulation.
Controller and communication
The firm processes personal data in order to provide its services, to improve those services, and to communicate with you personally as a data subject. Koreman Advocatuur B.V. is the controller for this processing.
Purposes of processing
The firm processes personal data among other things for the following purposes:
- providing legal services, including conducting proceedings on behalf of the client
- advising and other forms of assistance
- complying with statutory obligations that apply to lawyers
- invoicing and financial administration
- maintaining contact with clients, counterparties and other parties involved
Legal bases
Processing takes place on the basis of performance of the engagement agreement, compliance with a legal obligation, a legitimate interest of the firm, or your consent where that is required.
Retention
Personal data are not kept longer than necessary for the purposes for which they were collected, taking into account the statutory retention periods that apply to legal files.
Sharing with others
Your data are only shared with third parties where that is necessary for the performance of the engagement or where a statutory obligation requires it. Think of bailiffs, courts, experts and, where applicable, the counterparty’s lawyer. Where a third party processes data on our behalf, a processing agreement is concluded.
Security
The firm takes appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss and against unlawful processing.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for access to your personal data, and to have them rectified, erased or restricted. You may also object to processing and, in certain cases, request that your data be transferred to you or to another party. Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
To exercise these rights, contact us at jckoreman@koremanadvocatuur.nl or on +31 13 234 0336. Note that the professional duty of confidentiality of a lawyer may limit what can be provided.
Complaints
If you believe your personal data are not being handled properly, you may lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. We would appreciate the opportunity to resolve it with you first.
Website and cookies
This website uses cookies. Which cookies are placed, what they are for and how you can change your choice is set out on our cookies page.
Measurement and advertising on this website
Besides the information you give us yourself, we measure how this website is used. We do that to improve the site and to judge whether our advertising is worthwhile. Here is what that involves.
Website statistics. We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit the site, which pages they read and which channel they arrive from. This measurement only starts once you have given consent in the cookie notice. Without consent your visit is not included in the statistics.
Advertising. We advertise through Google Ads. If you consent to marketing cookies, we can see which advertisement led to an enquiry. When you submit the contact form we also send your email address to Google in encrypted form. Google does not receive the address itself but an irreversible hash of it, and uses that solely to link the enquiry to an ad click. Without consent for marketing cookies nothing is sent.
Protection of the contact form. The contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which assesses whether a submission comes from a person. Without that protection the form would become unusable through automated spam.
Legal basis and retention. For measurement and advertising we rely on your consent. You can withdraw it at any time using the button at the bottom left of every page, without affecting processing that already took place. Statistics are kept for a maximum of fourteen months.
Professional secrecy. Whatever you entrust to us in a conversation or in the body of the contact form is covered by the professional secrecy and right of non-disclosure of a Dutch lawyer. That information is never shared with Google or any other party for measurement or advertising purposes.
Which cookies are placed and how long they are kept is set out in our cookie policy.
Changes
This privacy policy may be amended. The version published on this website is the current one.
