Cover arrangement
What happens if John Koreman is temporarily unable to practise through illness or prolonged absence.

Who takes over in my absence

The arrangement
A standing arrangement has been agreed between mr. J.C. Koreman and mr. dr. J.G.A. Linssen. Under it, mr. dr. Linssen will take over the files of mr. Koreman in the broadest sense should mr. Koreman be unable to act. The arrangement was entered into for an indefinite period and can be terminated by either party subject to three months notice, or another period agreed at that time.
In taking over, mr. Linssen will do and refrain from doing everything he considers necessary, desirable and useful as a lawyer in the interests of the matter and of the client.
Why this exists
A firm of one person needs a arrangement of this kind. It ensures that deadlines are met and that your matter continues, even if I am unable to act through illness or prolonged absence. This is a requirement of the Dutch Bar Association for sole practitioners.
